“Though the renovation was extensive, my intention was that nothing should feel overtly new. I wanted to layer old-world charm, historical colour and a touch of nostalgia, with a fresh contemporary spirit.

Antique furnishings sourced from the region sit alongside custom pieces and Australian artworks, creating an elegant yet whimsical setting. Patinad wood and leather give nod to the logging and diary history of Kin Kin, while brass lighting and Art Deco inspired orbs are used throughout, changing from milk glass, to marble to linen and 60’s style sputniks.

Ultimately, it was about transforming an unloved building into a place where family, friends and food lovers can gather.”
